MatInd 2.2 and MatInspector 2.2 executables are provided for 

	- DEC Alpha (Digital Unix 4.0)
	- SUN (SunOS 5.5)
	- HP (HP-UX 10.2)
	- SGI (IRIX 6.2)
	- PC x86 (Linux 2.0)

To install MatInd 2.2 and MatInspector 2.2 on your system:

Uncompress and tar the file matind_2.2_*.tar.Z

        % uncompress matind_2.2_*.tar.Z
        % tar xvf matind_2.2_*.tar


Set the environment variable MATDIR to the directory

	/your_path/matind_2.2/library/

where `your_path' is the directory where you have just installed MatInd and 
MatInspector.

Add the MatInd directory (/your_path/matind_2.2/) to the
environment variable PATH, so that the programs can be called from every
other directory.

        % setenv PATH $PATH":/your_path/matind_2.2"

To keep this environment variable for your next sessions also, put the
commands into your .cshrc file.
